Asian Garment Ironing — Expert Care for Your Finest Clothes

Specialist ironing for saris, salwar kameez, lehengas and more. Handled with genuine skill and care.

Asian garment ironing service

Asian garments are among the most beautiful and complex pieces of clothing in the world — and among the most difficult to iron. Intricate embroidery, fine silks, delicate chiffons, hand-stitched embellishments, layers of fabric with very different care requirements. A general ironing service often lacks the knowledge or patience to handle them properly.

Many families across the UK have garments made in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or elsewhere in Asia — pieces that are irreplaceable and deeply personal. Our agents understand this. Several of our specialists have personal experience with these garments and approach each piece with the care and respect it deserves.

Garments We Handle

We handle saris (cotton, silk, chiffon, georgette and synthetic blends), salwar kameez in all styles (straight cut, Anarkali, Patiala), churidars, dupattas and scarves, lehengas (skirt and choli), sharara and gharara sets, sherwanis and kurtas, and occasion and wedding garments for all South Asian and Asian ceremonies.

How We Approach Asian Garments

Asian garments often combine multiple fabrics — for example, a cotton kameez with a silk dupatta, or an embroidered lehenga with layers of net. Each fabric behaves differently under heat and steam, and each embellishment has its own constraints.

Our agents assess each garment individually before pressing. Steam temperature is set to match the most delicate element present. Heavily beaded or sequinned sections are worked around carefully rather than pressed directly.

Washing Asian Garments

Where the care label permits, we can wash garments before ironing. Many Asian garments — particularly those made in India for export — are suitable for a gentle machine wash or hand wash. We'll advise based on the care label and fabric. We do not offer dry cleaning.

How Garments Are Returned

All garments are returned on hangers in biodegradable protective covers. Dupattas and scarves are pressed and folded. For particularly precious pieces, we can discuss specific return requirements when you book.

What to Do Before Booking

For everyday salwar kameez and standard garments, you can book directly and we'll take care of the rest. For heavily embellished pieces — wedding lehengas, heavily beaded saris, hand-embroidered occasion wear — please contact us first. We'll confirm the garment is suitable for our service and discuss care requirements.
